Economic Indicators
In the absence of a single variable measuring the economy's performance,
a list of indicators are often used to gauge economic activity. CDA's
Economic Indicators Series reports on only nine of what would ideally be
a long list of economic indicators and variables. The reported variables
include: Consumer Price Index (CPI), Visitor Arrivals, Hotel Occupancy Rate,
New Car and Truck Sales, Inbound Ocean Cargo, Outbound Ocean Cargo,
Transhipment Cargo, Building Permits Issued and Average Weekly Help-Wanted
